interstate creation joy

Our day was blessed with backseat questions of when the sun would rise. We had a much more pleasant border crossing expierence and rolled through the higher speed limits of the interstate phenomenon. We had many surprises today. Some of them included  passing through the town of the Wright Brothers (Dayton, OH) along with signs that celebrated the home of Abraham Lincoln (in Kentucky).  Katrina wondered about Jack Daniels role in U.S. history, until she realized it was a type of whiskey - then we all changed topics.  Thunderstorms came and went, and so did we. We made excuses to pull over next to what ended up being a form of wild bamboo, new looking lichen, hills of shale that slid underfoot and a wonderful and final cliff like face to explore before reaching our final destination of Nashville Tennessee. We are filled with awe.

Today we were driving on the interstate 75 in Kentucky and we asked to pull over at a rocky wall. Me and Joshua climbed up to the top and were walking to a lower place when Joshua spotted something. At first I could'nt see it, but then I saw it! It was a little brown and grey lizard and it had little spikes on its head. Me and Joshua came closer, but did not want to scare it away. We called dad and the rest of the family! Dad took this picture of it, and then I tried to catch it- but it was too fast. He scurried into a little crevice. We kept looking for more. I'm so happy because this was one of the things I wanted to see on this trip. I was surprised to see it on my first day. This is only the beginning!
