cliffs and ramps

We had another sun filled, wind filled day in Ocean Beach. My brother Ian has always wanted to show us Sunset Cliffs, one of his favorite places to surf and explore. Some, if not all of our feet got wet with jumps in front of sea foam surges. With the popping noises of kelp air sacs underfoot, we talked, some ran and we enjoyed time together. I was blessed to be with some of the brothers I grew up with, and walk in the places i've only imagined up to this point. For lunch, Stephen and Julie took us to one of their favourite and authentic mexican restaurants, and we all enjoyed fresh and wonderful everything. Samuel was in avocado bliss, and we had a salsa heat index for everyone's taste buds. I'm not sure when we will have our fill of fresh corn tortillas and heat, but we are enjoying it each step of our way. Our afternoon ended with stopping by the shop where Ian works and trying out the ramp that he and brother Jony built. We watched little/big cousin Solomon drop in and ramp and show us his run. Please see the captions from the skate photos for more of the story. Today we are off to the San Diego Zoo and looking forward to more family before we have to say goodby and start heading north.

we were greeted with hugs and also, the rough housing started up where it left of from three years ago...

Josh was the only one who made the jump without getting wet on the landing...

Today we started the day with a good old fashoned bacon 'n egg breakfast, then met up with cousins we have not seen in three years. It took a little time to re aquainte, but in time we all headed down to the tidile pools to exsplore. It was fun. We then started to get hungry so we went to a mexican resturant and had a great time. We then went to the shop were Uncle Ian works and wathched 5 year old Solomon skateboard. My is he skilled!! After that we all went home. I have enjoyed getting to know Hatteras better. Last time I saw her she was 3 months old. She is a doll lover for sure. The two dolls I meet were Powdered Sugar Baby, (she smells nice.) and Bubba. We had giggles over the name. Later she said Bubba has another name. Gaga. What an imagination! Tommorow we are going to a zoo, and I can't wait!

It was good seeing my brother Jony again, he is a bit banged up, and could not skate but said he will be in the news when he does... :)

S
Stephan had not skated for two years after knee surgery, and although he said he was not "feeling it" still managed to pull off a run of 10-15 consecutive lip tricks...at the end of the session, he said "give him a month, and he will rule this ramp"- I think he already did!

at the end of the day, everyone rested on the couch thats hard to sit up on....i call it our slouch couch.
